During my internship with the IMAX Digital team, I contributed to high-impact initiatives that improved fan engagement and system consistency across imax.com.

OWNING THE PROJECTS
As a sole UX Design Intern, I jumped in on two core projects my team was actively working on:
Auditing and improving IMAXโs global design system

Designing new fan account features to drive ticket sales and retention

CHALLENGES
Through ticket conversion analysis & UX audit, 2 systemic problems emerged.
PROBLEM 1
IMAX.com faced inconsistent components, poor mobile responsiveness, and outdated visuals, creating friction during high-traffic film releases.
PROBLEM 2
Fans missed film release announcements and engagement opportunities, limiting easy ticket purchases.
PROCESS
I led a research-driven process (i.e. stakeholder interviews, competitive analysis, segmentation analysis, user interview data) before iterating on designs, aligning with engineering, and QAing experiences until launch.

While some designs remain confidential, a few of my contributions are now live on imax.com. Below are select screens and components that launched as part of the user account and design system updates.
HIGHLIGHTS
Viral on Social Media: Fan Vote Feature Launch!
One of the most exciting moments was the launch of the IMAX Fan Vote feature: a project I contributed to that received overwhelming fan excitement and viral engagement across social media!
Debut on IMAX's instagram!
I also had the fun experience of debuting on IMAXโs official Instagram, helping create a Love Islandโinspired post that played on viral trends while we watched the season finale on the big screen.
And special thanks to many unforgettable momentsโฆ

Stakeholder Alignment
It was highly important to prepare and present design documentation for stakeholders across product, engineering, legal, and marketing while tailoring my language to each audience.
Cross-functional Collaboration
I became more confident designing within data-driven ecosystems, balancing UX with backend, tracking, and CRM constraints from the start.
System Thinking
I learned to design within scope such as enhancing systems thoughtfully while preserving consistency across global pages and legacy code.
Research Versatility
From interviews to competitive analysis and dashboard reviews, I developed an adaptable research approach depending on the question or stage.
